The Nabisco's littlest golf mogul
Thursday, April 1, 2010
RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF.- He looks like a little superstar in his shades and shrill Loudmouth Golf pants, carrying the scoring sign for Natalie Gulbis and Christina Kim. And when seven-year-old Kyle Lograsso is asked to take a pause in his duties as standard bearer to let a bystander snap a picture, he doesn't hesitate but poses like a pro and hands over his business card.

Ever since Dave Kindred wrote
a 2007 feature in Golf Digest on the then 4-year-old tyke whose love for golf helped him get through treatment for a devastating bout with Retinoblastoma (eye cancer -- Lograsso lost his left eye and underwent six months of chemo to combat the four tumors in his right eye), Lograsso has become arguably the most famous elementary-school student in golf. His foundation,
Through Kyle's Eyes, raises money for the Eye Tumor Research Foundation and Retinoblastoma International, and his inaugural celebrity charity tournament is scheduled for September 13 at Pauma Valley Country Club in Pauma Valley Country Club.
So how did Lograsso get the standard-bearer gig at this week's Kraft Nabisco Championship? "I asked," he says. Like a true entrepreneur.
