Stupples pulls away

RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF.- On a day when several of the players from the bottom of the leaderboard have managed to put up excellent scores, the overnight leaders are having a tough time -- except for England's Karen Stupples.

While her final-group playing partner, crowd favorite Lorena Ochoa, is struggling with everything from her driver to her putter and has played the front nine in two over, Stupples has a spring in her step and is three under par at the turn. Her -9 is currently good for a three-shot lead over Japan's Sakura Yokomine and Taiwan's Yani Tseng at six under. Overnight leader Song Hee Kim has fallen back to -5.
