RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF.- Song-Hee Kim would like you to know that she is very familiar with what it feels like to be in the lead of a tournament going in to the weekend, even though it hasn't ever happened in a major before. The young South Korean is in her fourth year on the LPGA Tour, and she won five titles on the Futures before that. She hasn't been able to close the deal in the big leagues yet, but she's come this close a number of times (she had 12 top-10 finishes in 2009 and is three for three in that column so far in 2010). So how is she going to make sure she stays on top at the Kraft Nabisco? "I think about frozen yogurt," she said in her post-round interview after grabbing the solo lead Friday with a seven-under-par total.

Since last year, the tall 21-year-old has been working with complete-game coaches Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott, whose Vision 54 golf schools are named for the score you'd have if you birdied every hole. The two have been pumping Kim full of positive images. "They're always telling me what I need to be thinking on the course," Kim said. "I [tend to] always think about bad things or negative things, so they make me think about more positive or happy things." When prompted to name some of those positive things, Kim admitted, "I really like frozen yogurt. They keep reminding me think more about frozen yogurt. So that makes me pretty happy."
There you have it, folks. That's the secret. The next time you're having a bad round, just conjure up some frozen dessert.
