And throughout
the final week of the tournament, it looked as though Bulle Rock was going to beat Wolf Creek at its own game -- rallying an avid pocket of fans to log on and vote ... and vote again ... and vote again. But the Bulle got beat by
the bully of the bracket. The Creek received 169,660 votes, the Rock finished with 130,265.

"Way to go Wolf Creek, all of Nevada was behind you," was one comment by Liberty Powers Hawkins. And she wasn't exaggerating. Through the summer of this concept, Wolf Creek (pictured) received almost half the total number of votes (342,272). The road to the victory went through The Challenge at Manele (123 to 54), Bandon Dunes (1,187 to 708), The Classic at Madden's Resort (34,230 to 22,173), The Ocean Course at Kiawah (46,638 to 36,457), Chambers Bay (90,434 to 64,717), and Bulle Rock (169,660 to 130,265), who's PR and marketing team also deserves a lot of credit for putting up such a good fight. The course named for a race horse got caught coming down the stretch.
And so I'm going to make my way to the $195 course in Mesquite, Nev. -- the Bud Chapman painting come to life -- to deliver some handshakes, a plaque and some prizes. Congratulations to
Wolf Creek --
The Fans' Choice.
