The 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale (host course of the Waste Management Phoenix Open) has been photographed thousands of times, but never like this. In 2010 during the third round, using a tripod mounted robotic camera called a Gigapan, Golf World photographer Darren Carroll took a picture that allows readers to "interact" with the image. Here's how a Gigapan works: The Gigapan directs the camera up and down, left and right, shooting images throughout the process. In this photograph, 720 individual images were taken of the 16th hole duringa 35-minute process. Those pictures were then stitched together into the one you see below. The result is an incredibly high resolution panoramic photograph (6,104 megapixels and 18.3 gigabytes to be exact.) That's Tom Lehman on the tee, a member of one of the three groups that played the hole while the images were being taken.
