Players' Picks: The 10 Worst Tour Courses

Our survey of more than 80 tour pros reveals the 10 courses they least like playing each year on the PGA Tour (EDITOR'S NOTE: This survey was compiled in 2012 and does not take into account changes made to Liberty National since it last hosted the PGA Tour in 2009)

PHOTOS: The 10 best PGA Tour courses

January 16, 2012
When Golf World set out to identify which courses players liked and disliked most on the PGA Tour, we opted to set aside many of the categories that have become synonymous with the Golf Digest ranking process, and instead let these busy elite golfers simply award a 1 to 10 score, with 10 being best. Even with this condensed form of evaluation, the 81 players polled often agonized over scores and even changed a few to ensure consistency. In short, they put their heart, soul and minds into our year-long process and as evidenced by the bottom 10 courses, they clearly do not love modern designs stretched to maximum yardages with features contrived to take away any kind of risk taking and heroic play.

Anonymous pro comments: "Too crammed in. Have nothing good to say about it," said one, while another said of the landfill-turned-course, "They should have left it as a dump." ... "Stupid & the views are way better than the course." ... A "stunning" location that "is the only thing that keeps it from being a 0." When told the tour was returning in 2013, one player said, "I can't believe we're going back there."
