The Barclays champ showed his game to be looking rather fit with his opportune win at Bethpage on Sunday. Now if he could only say the same about his apparel. Reed does himself a disservice with the oversized, pleated slacks. Wearing them as baggy as he does makes his clothes looking sloppier and less sharp than it actually is.

Conversely, Fitzpatrick has done a fantastic job of finding clothes that fit his frame, which can be a challenge for someone who is slight in size. When the former U.S. Amateur champion first came out on tour, his clothes were so large he looked like he was playing in a parachute. Now, he’s found that perfect balance and his clothes look tailored, not tight!

Jordan Spieth

This is one of the stronger looks we’ve seen on Spieth in some time. Various shades of teal have been trending on and off the course for several seasons, and I’m glad Jordan added the color to his typical palette of basic blues and grays. That soft, matte-gray trouser is the perfect pairing with this bright, bold color.

Rory McIlroy

Spieth wasn’t the only pro to put that type of trouser in play at the Barclays with McIlroy scripting a few into his set-up last week as well. If you feel like joining this matte movement follow Rory’s lead and make sure you have a gray-braided belt to tie everything together. This simple strap works well with every light-colored pair of pants in your wardrobe.

Then again, if you’ve got more exotic taste Phil’s green polo and died-to-match Croc belt is a surefire way to spin some heads in any group you roll with.

These nylon and wool, mixed-material outerwear pieces may be some of the coolest layering looks on tour. You’ll see something similar in Ralph Lauren’s U.S. Ryder Cup kits, as these have become a staple of the team script.

Plaids can be fun, but they are almost always easier to wear when grounded in dark colors. Merritt’s clothes fit well, it’s just the combo of his white belt and light plaid pants take this whole thing in a bad Bushwood direction.

It was Mustachio Bashio at the Barclays for these guys in what was their rendition of “playoff” beard. Say what you will, we’re guessing the pair still plays their way into the Fed Ex Cup final and then dresses up as Starsky and Hutch for Halloween.

Not long removed from his gold-medal performance, Rose continues to look good on and off the course in his new Adidas gear. Rose has a good sense of simple style. Although he never looked bad in his Ashworth stuff, he’s got a slightly more modern attitude with his new kit.
