Its 13 pockets (more than any bag we tested) seem engineered to address every need. The magnetic zipperless ball pocket is cool, but minor details are what impressed us: The two upper-side pockets flip up to ensure full access when strapped to a cart, and an external ball marker, tee holders and a pen sleeve are convenient and functional.

With its nine pockets, you'll have no problem stuffing rounds' worth of supplies into this 5.9-pound bag. The top is sloped from back to front, and the EVA-molded shaft dividers isolate woods and irons for easier access and less club-shaft damage. The raised handle also makes it easier to grab when setting the bag down. The external ball silo provides smooth access.

Ping

- $170 | pinggolf.com
Weighing five pounds, this is the lightest stand bag Ping offers. The primary strap retracts for easy access as you slip it on your shoulder, and a secondary spring wire wraps through the middle of the bag to provide extra structure for snag-free club removal. The four-way top with three full-length dividers provides just enough club organization without driving you crazy.

The days of sacrificing substance for a lighter bag are gone. Weighing less than four pounds, this is the lightest full-size carry bag we tested. But with seven pockets, most of which are waterproof, there's still a ton of room. The water-bottle holster is conveniently placed and spacious, the legs spring out fast and firmly, and the rubber handle molded to the top is genius.
