Watch Sergio Garcia add to his list of ridiculous recovery shots by hitting a totally submerged ball and making par

February 26, 2015

It's been awhile since Sergio Garcia added to his win total on the PGA Tour. But in the meantime, he's been racking up some remarkable recovery shots.

In Thursday's opening round at the Honda Classic, Garcia found the water with his tee shot on the par-5 18th hole at PGA National. Yet with the ball completely submerged, Garcia was able to knock it back into the fairway -- after putting on his rain gear to protect that crisp, white shirt, of course. Check it out:

Garcia would save par, although it didn't keep him from shooting a rough four-over 39 on his first nine holes. It also didn't take away any of the sting of not being able to recover from bad drives on the final two holes at the Northern Trust Open on Sunday when he made back-to-back bogeys to miss out on a playoff by one shot.

On the bright side, Garcia has become quite the escape artist in the past two years. Aside from his watery blast today, there was this pinpoint 3-iron bunker shot in under/between trees and a TV tower last Saturday on No. 13 at Riviera:

And of course, his famous shot at Bay Hill in 2013 after he climbed a tree to get to his ball:

Say what you will about Sergio Garcia, but the man is an escape artist.
