"Golfers aren't intimidated by Tiger Woods like they used to be," or so goes the common narrative. On Wednesday, a reporter even went as far as to ask Henrik Stenson about the Swede possibly "striking fear" in the heart of the 14-time major winner.
But while Woods' intimidation factor has, perhaps, diminished during his six-year winless drought in majors, his aura of greatness still exists. Just ask younger golfers.
There are two amateurs age 21 or younger in the field at this week's British Open and both were thrilled to show how their paths crossed with Woods, 38, before the tournament even started.
First, Paul Dunne, 21, tweeted a photo of him hitting balls next to Woods on Hoylake's practice range:
Then, Bradley Neil, 18, posted this photo with Woods:
Apparently, 'gobsmacked' is British slang for utterly astonished. But no matter where you're from, that's a lot of exclamation points.
