Tornado blows through junior golf tournament in Colorado, one injured

One man was injured on Sunday when a tornado blew through the middle of a junior golf tournament and flipped a golf cart on its side at Blackwood Country Club in Aurora, Colo., a few miles southeast of Denver, on Sunday.

"We were driving up 18 in the cart that picked us up," one of the players, Paul Cleveland, told Denver's 9News, "and all of a sudden we saw a tornado coming from the right. The tornado hits us and picks the cart off the ground. And when I looked down I see there's a man with a huge blow to the side of his head and his wrist bone completely popped out of his skin. Just a horrifying site. I grabbed my phone and called 911. We actually had to lift the golf cart off his head."
The television station identified the injured man as John Leede, the father of David Leede, who was playing in the tournament and was paired with Cleveland. John sustained a broken wrist.
Ninety-seven junior players were on the course during the first round of the two-day tournament that is part of the Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour.
