Paul Casey just shot 27 on the back nine in Texas. We're told that's pretty good

Paul Casey grabbed a share of the lead on Friday at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, which maybe isn't that big of a deal with 36 holes left to play

What IS a big deal is that halfway through his round at TPC Four Seasons, Casey was nowhere to be found on the leader board. One over par though the front nine, the 36-year-old Casey blitzed the back side with six birdies and an eagle for a 27. The score was one off the nine-hole PGA Tour scoring mark set by Corey Pavin at the 2006 U.S. Bank Championship, and good for a second round 63 (Pavin's 26 was on a par 34, however, while Casey's came on a par 35).

In case you're wondering what a 27 looks like on a scorecard (albeit an electronic one), it looks like this:

Although Casey rose to as high as third in the world in 2009, he hasn't won on the PGA Tour in five years, and hasn't had a top 10 in three (the England native, who plays a partial schedule on the European Tour, did however capture his 11th title on the Euro Tour last year).
