As more golfers explore the counterbalance-putter craze, manufacturers are naturally inclined to get into the marketplace as well. It's why Scotty Cameron by Titleist entered the category earlier this year with the Futura X Dual Balance putter and why the company announced Tuesday that it was adding two other new models to the Dual Balance line.
Joining the Futura X are the Newport 2 and GoLo 7. Each 38-inch putters features 15-inch, large-diameter grips. The heads, which have a "frozen titanium" finish, also weigh 50 grams more than standard with a 50-gram counterweight in the butt end.
"That eliminates the tendency for many players to flip, push or lead with their hands," says designer Scotty Cameron.
Cameron added that the company did extensive research on shaft flex to make sure the putters ($399) worked as designed.Follow @EMichaelGW
