Bubba Watson recreates famous Masters shot in ESPN ad. Sort of...

April 04, 2014

When you hit one of the all-time golf shots, you deserve a SportsCenter commercial. Even if it's two years after the fact.

A new ad in time for this years Masters shows Bubba Watson and caddie Ted Scott trying to figure out how to navigate getting around a tree -- the Stanford mascot -- in the ESPN office. The beauty of the commercial is that even non-golf fans should find it funny. Check it out:

Of course, Watson won the 2012 Masters when he hit a remarkable recovery shot from the woods on No. 10. The lefty hooked his ball off pine straw through a small gap in the trees to about 15 feet, setting up an easy two-putt par for his first major championship.

It took Watson nearly two years to get his next PGA Tour win, but his victory at Riviera coupled with two other runner-ups in 2014 have him as one of the favorites at Augusta National. And that was before we learned another potential Stanford obstacle won't be in attendance.
