Casper, 82, who won the 1970 Masters by beating Gene Littler in an 18-hole playoff, was taken to an undisclosed hospital and kept overnight for observation, according to a spokesman for Casper. He was released Thursday morning and was resting at a home in town that he is renting for the week. Casper attended the traditional Champions Dinner at the club on Tuesday evening.

The three-time major winner, shown right at the 2005 Masters, was unavailable for comment. A spokesman for Casper said he intended to return to Augusta National on Friday.
