USGA selects eight collegians for 2014 U.S. Curtis Cup squad

Thirteen months after being named the 2014 U.S. Curtis Cup captain, Ellen Port finally knows the eight-player team she'll be taking with her to St. Louis C.C. as the Americans attempt to avenge their defeat to Great Britain & Ireland two years ago and win the biennial competition for the eighth time in nine tries.

The USGA on Wednesday announced the complete roster that will compete June 6-8, choosing eight collegians for the second straight time.

Kyung Kim, 19, of Chandler, Ariz. (USC)

Alison Lee, 19, of Valencia, Calif. (UCLA)

Erynne Lee, 21, of Silverdale, Wash. (UCLA)

Ally McDonald, 21, of Fulton, Miss. (Mississippi State)

Annie Park, 18, of Levittown, N.Y. (USC)

Ashlan Ramsey, 18, of Milledgeville, Ga. (Clemson)

Mariah Stackhouse, 19, of Riverdale, Ga. (Stanford)

Emma Talley, 19, of Princeton, Ky. (Alabama)

All eight players are Curtis Cup rookies. All eight players are among the top 25 on the Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking. Park (No. 2), Alison Lee (3), Ramsey (7), McDonald (9) and Kim (10) are all ranked inside the top 10.

"I am so proud of these players and excited for what is ahead for this team," said Port, who will be leading the U.S. squad in her home town of St. Louis. "Representing your country in the Curtis Cup Match is one of the highest honors a female amateur player can receive, and I know these women are more than up to the task. We are all looking forward to June and the opportunities that are ahead of us."

Two alternates (Doris Chen and Lauren Diaz-Yi) were also picked for the team.
