A definitive history of golf rap videos

By Luke Kerr-Dineen

What is it with all these golf rap videos?

We're not really sure, but they seem to be popping up everywhere. Some people (cough cough) are even starting to think they're getting a little old...

But either way, another one was released today. It's called "Lob Wedge," and was performed by Stand-Up Comedian JiGGY. Give it a watch:

This all started back in June 2011 when Rickie Fowler, Ben Crane, Bubba Watson and Hunter Mahan joined forces as "The Golf Boys" and released a music video for the song "Oh Oh Oh." The video amassed more than 6.5 million views, and was generally pretty well received.

That opened the floodgates. A group of Ladies European Tour players formed a group called "The Golf Girls" later that month and made a tribute video, which currently has more than 93,000 views.

A couple smaller videos bounced around, until The Golf Boys made their comeback, incorporating names of professional golfers into their lyrics for close to 4 million more hits.

But page views aside, there's only one winner here: Caleb C, who made a rap video about how much he loves golf. We hailed it "the cutest golf rap video ever." We'll let you be the judge:
