While grabbing only two of the available 11 first-place votes, Barry maintain its place atop the final Golf World/Nike Golf D-II coaches' poll of the spring. Three victories in the 2011-12 season as a well as nine top-three finishes in 11 starts help secure the favorite label for the Buccaneers as they play in the NCAA Championship this week at Cardinal Club GC in Louisville, Ky.
Also holding firm in the No. 2 and 3 spots are Nova Southeastern, with five first-place votes, and CSU-Stanislaus, with one first-place vote.
Methodist, with 14 of the 16 available first-place votes, kept hold of the No. 1 ranking in the final Division III coaches' poll. The Monarchs won five times in 2011-12 as attempt to claim their 11th NCAA golf title this week at Mission Inn Resort outside of Orlando.
Oklahoma Christian continues to lay claim to the No. 1 ranking in the NAIA coaches' poll, earning six of the 11 first-place votes. The Eagles will attempt to defend their national title at the NAIA Championship next week in Salem, Ore.
