Welcome to Golf Month is offering free lessons in 2012

May 03, 2012

In case you missed the announcement, Tuesday kicked off May, aka "Welcome to Golf Month", an initiative by Play Golf America with the intention of getting more people out on the course. As a proud sponsor, along with the PGA, we here at Golf Digest realize that intentions are all well and good, but some people need a push to pick up the clubs for the first time. Which is why they're offering free lessons.

As a new edition for 2012, Welcome to Golf Month is utilizing the PGA's Free Lesson Month as its foundation of the program to create a welcoming atmosphere to encourage new players. Facilities may offer Get Golf Ready, introductory programs and clinics, Welcome to Golf Days and Bring a Friend activities and invite golfers of all abilities (beginner through avid), as well as free 10-minute golf lessons with participating PGA/LPGA professionals. So now you really have no more excuses.

To find a professional near you, just head over to the Play Golf America website to search all participating locations.
