Contest: Pick the Players winner, win a golf trip

May 07, 2012

We're calling it the Major Championship Challenge, but it's actually pretty easy: pick the winner of the Players, the "fifth major," and be eligible to win a golf trip for two to Ireland.

This is Golf Digest's first fantasy golf league and we've already made one dream come true.

Meet Brendan Fehr, who picked Bubba Watson to win the Masters. Now Fehr is taking his wife to the Celtic Couples Challenge (Sept. 24-28), where they'll stay in Killarney for four nights, and play golf at Ballybunion (Old Course), Tralee, Waterville and Dooks -- an all-expenses-paid trip estimated at $9,000.

All you have to do is LIKE our Facebook Page and pick a winner. Windows close on Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. ET. If your player wins, and you're the only participant to pick that player, you win a choice of golf trips for two to Ireland, supplied by Carr Golf Travel. If you're one of many participants to pick the winner, the winning score might break the tie. And if not, we'll have a random draw to determine the winner.

If your player doesn't win but makes the cut and collects a check, that amount of prize money gets added to your money total. Which is relevant because the grand-prize winner is the participant with the most amount of total prize money.

And the person who collects the most amount of prize money over the course of the five majors wins the grand prize: four golfers, five nights and five rounds of golf at some of Ireland's best golf courses. You'll play Waterville, Ballybunion (Old Course), Tralee (pictured above), Doonbeg and Killarney, which is where you'll stay.

"Killarney is a hub of entertainment," says Marty Carr, CEO of Carr Golf Group. "You'll walk out of your five-star hotel and there will be the scent of Guinness and the sound of song coming from the local pubs."

Sign up now. If you're not playing, you're making a big mistake. Big. Huge!
