Tiger tumbling in final round at Pebble

June 20, 2010

So much for momentum.

After Tiger Woods finished Saturday's third round with a scintillating 5-under 31 on the back nine, many proclaimed the world's No. 1 player to finally be back to the form deserving of that lofty status.

However, through 10 holes on Sunday, Woods looks much more like the player who missed the cut at Quail Hollow and who struggled at the Players Championship before withdrawing than the one with 14 major championship trophies.

Woods has bogeyed half of his holes thus far to fall from one-under par at the start of the day to three over. His lone highlight came when he dropped a bomb for birdie on the par-3 seventh.

This is the point that he turned it on yesterday, but another such finish seems highly unlikely right now. Does he look like the Tiger of old? It's tough to tell with that black sweater vest covering up most of his patented Sunday red shirt.
