NGCA handing out a pair of Hall passes

December 03, 2009

At next week's National Golf Coaches Association annual convention in Las Vegas a pair of standout women's collegiate players will be inducted into the NGCA's Hall of Fame. Tulsa's Jody Rosenthal Anchutz and Arizona's Jenna Daniels McCorkle are the twosome that make up this year's HoF class.

Rosenthal Anchutz played for the Golden Hurricane from 1981-85 and was part of the line-up that claimed the 1982 NCAA and AIAW national championships. She earned six individual titles during her career, was a four-time first-team All-American and had two runner-up finishes at NCAAs as well as a third-place showing. After college, the 47-year-old native of Minnesota went on to compete on the LPGA Tour, earning rookie-of-the-year honors in 1986 and winning one tour title, the 1987 du Mauier Classic.

Daniels McCorkle was a two-time first-team All-American while playing for the Wildcats from 1996-2000. During her senior season she claimed three of her six career individual victories, including the NCAA Championship, while earning national player of the year honors with a then NCAA record 71.7 average.

The NGCA will also honor Ohio State women's coach Therese Hession with its Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award.
