Golf is actually being played and some of it is even interesting, the Australian Open, for instance. A pair of Australians who fell on hard times in 2009 will vie for the championship in the final round.

Adam Scott, whose No. 3 world ranking became a distant memory in '09, holds a two-stroke lead over Stuart Appleby, who fell to 137th on the PGA Tour money list this year and lost his full PGA Tour exemption.

"It's great to see us both playing well because we've both had (bleep) years," Scott said, providing a succinct (if off-color) summary of their respective performances.

On a lesser note, John Daly shot a third-round 78 and is 18 strokes off the lead.
