Daly fails in U.S. Open qualifying

The Associated Press' Doug Ferguson reports that John Daly shot rounds of 71 and 73 on two courses in the Memphis, Tenn., area in U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying to miss earning a spot into the tournament he loves to hate.

Daly will remain in Memphis this week to play in the St. Jude Classic, officially ending his PGA Tour suspension.
